UTC Offset: UTC +5

Oral Time (ORAT) operated at UTC+5 hours, historically serving the city of Oral (also known as Uralsk) and surrounding areas in western Kazakhstan. Sometimes referred to as "West Kazakhstan Time," ORAT did not observe daylight saving time and remained stable throughout the year.

Importance and Global Use of ORAT

Oral Time was significant for supporting regional government, transport, and community life in western Kazakhstan. Its consistent UTC+5 offset provided a reliable framework for managing daily schedules, reducing confusion and aiding local administration.

On a wider scale, ORAT helped align trade, communications, and transportation with European and neighboring Central Asian partners. Although it is no longer formally recognized, the time standard it followed (UTC+5) continues to connect Kazakhstan smoothly with global and regional activities.
